The architect Fred HAWTREE designed the two courses at Saint-Nom in the tradition of the great Anglo-Saxon golf venues.
Like the finest course designers, he succeeded in creating a layout in perfect harmony with the Versailles plain.
Over the past 60 years, the two courses have benefitted from hosting numerous tournaments, allowing for continuous upgrades to European Tour standards – most recently in 2022, when the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC) were played on the Red Course.
Ongoing investment in both human expertise and machinery ensures consistently high-quality maintenance, something of which the members are justifiably proud.
Since 1970, the course used for the Trophée Lancôme has naturally evolved.
In 1986, a composite course was created, artfully blending holes from the Blue Course (7 holes) and the Red Course (11 holes).
This Composite layout is reserved exclusively for major international competitions such as the Trophée Lancôme and the Vivendi Trophy.
During the last Vivendi Trophy in 2013, the front and back nines were reversed to create a different dynamic, in keeping with the match-play format of the event.
The Composite Course will once again be in use for the 2025 Open de France.
The White Course is a 5-hole Pitch-and-Putt layout that complements the club’s practice facilities.
It is regularly used by coaches for team training sessions, for individual lessons, as well as by members themselves.
This course is located close to holes 8, 9, and 13 of the Blue Course, with access provided by shuttle.
