From the outset, a handful of visionary pioneers had the courage and imagination to create the magnificent golfing estate we enjoy today: one of France’s finest and most internationally renowned golf clubs. A place that continues to inspire its members, foster sporting excellence, and nurture the unique spirit of camaraderie.
Welcome to Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche.
A unique club where sporting excellence meets conviviality and the art of fine living.
For over 60 years, our club has stood as a benchmark among France’s private golf clubs.
With two championship courses, a preserved natural setting, and first-class facilities, Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche has hosted some of the greatest events in world golf, including the Trophée Lancôme and the Open de France.
Yet beyond the prestige, our true wealth lies in our members. Here, generations mix and share far more than a sport: children, young competitors, passionate amateurs, leisure players, and seniors – all find their place and contribute to the club’s distinctive spirit.
This harmony between tradition and modernity, between high standards and warmth, is the very soul of our club.
We strive to maintain a precious balance: a refined and exacting club, yet welcoming and family-oriented.
Our ambition is clear – to preserve this sporting and human heritage while opening it to new generations who share our values of excellence, respect, and elegance.
If you embrace these values, we will be delighted to welcome you and share all that makes Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche far more than just a club – it is a way of life.

In 1957, a small group of visionaries, charmed by the rustic beauty of modest farm buildings and the surrounding countryside, had the courage and imagination to create the superb golfing and residential estate we know today.
We owe special thanks to Daniel Féau, the driving force behind this project at a time when golf was little developed in France, and to the dozen or so pioneers who worked alongside him to bring it to life – including British course architect Fred William Hawtree.
The first course, the Blue, opened in 1959, followed a year later by the Red. Upon entering the clubhouse, visitors are greeted by an interior that perfectly reflects the founders’ ambitions.
Thanks to the sporting passion of great families such as the Mourgue d’Algue, Lacoste, and Frayssineau, Saint-Nom has repeatedly risen to the top ranks of French golf.
Driven by a philosophy of training through competition and mutual encouragement, several generations of France’s finest players have proudly worn the club’s blue and red colours: Catherine Lacoste, Cécilia Mourgue d’Algue, Gaëtan Mourgue d’Algue, Marc Pendaries, and more recently Charles-Henri Quelin, Nicolas Bauer, Philippe Lima, Jean-Jacques Wolff, Victor Dubuisson, Marine Monnet, Cassandra Kirkland, Victor Riu, Adrien Pendaries, and Robin Sciot-Siegrist.
Host of the legendary Trophée Lancôme – a tournament that brought together the very best in men’s world golf – our club has welcomed countless international competitions and some of the game’s greatest names:
Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Johnny Miller, Severiano Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, Mark O’Meara, Greg Norman, Colin Montgomerie, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Fred Couples, David Duval, Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam, Nick Faldo, José María Olazábal, Sergio García, Retief Goosen, Jean van de Velde, and Rory McIlroy.
The prestige of these great events has been a key driver in the growth and reputation of our club.

In 2025, our Men’s Team repeated the feat, a victory that fills the entire club with pride.
